Breakthroughs in gynaecological cancer are on the horizon but we urgently need your help to fund the ground-breaking research needed for better tests and treatments.

At Wellbeing of Women we fund life saving gynaecological cancer research such as Dr Maria Paraskevaidi's research into cervical cancer diagnosis and Dr Ankit Chadha’s research into ovarian cancer treatment.

Dr Paraskevaidi's study is developing a new technique that could help rapidly diagnose cervical and vulval cancers while in their precancerous stages.  This will be the first-ever clinic-based study using this technology to assist the diagnosis and treatment of cervical and vulval cancers and precancers.

She says: “we want to look at how technology can help diagnose cervical and vulval precancer and cancer more accurately and how it can assist surgeons in removing all cancerous tissue, reducing the likelihood of further surgery and its associated risks."

By giving to our appeal you're helping to fund research like Dr Chadha’s study to differentiate between types of ovarian cancer using a simple handheld device. By identifying the type of ovarian cancer, the right treatment can be used at the right time, saving women from multiple rounds of unsuccessful treatment

By donating to our appeal we can invest in research to discover more effective life saving treatments, giving women more choice, and more hope.

£10 could pay for the biobanking costs of 2 blood sample of a women with suspected ovarian cancer.

£30 could pay towards the cost of equipment needed to analyse cancer tissue to help stop chemotherapy resistance in ovarian cancer patients.

£50 could pay for the use of a fluorescence microscope to analyse tissue samples for 4 hours.

£1,000 could cover the cost of real time detection of ovarian cancer tumour death using live cell analysis system.
